  1. On the Windows 10 computer, navigate to the WD SmartWare - WD Support - Western Digital page using the Google Chrome web browser or any other browsers.
  2. On the Software & Downloads page of the WD product, click the Download button in the WD SmartWare field.
  3. After downloading the WD software, find its location or path on the Windows 10 computer.
  4. Double-click the WD SmartWare file and then perform the on-screen guidelines to install the WD SmartWare software.
  5. Restart the Windows 10 computer once you have completed the installation steps for the WD SmartWare software.
  6. Launch the main interface of the WD SmartWare software.
  7. Move to the Back tab. Click the Enable Backup button at the bottom-right corner of the screen.
