  1. First, unpack your new WD My Passport drive. You need to charge the device if it is the first time you are setting it up.
  2. You can see the Power button at the front of the device.
  3. Keep pushing the button until you see the LEDs on the top of the device blinking. These are the Power and Battery LEDs.
  4. Wait for the Wi-Fi LED to turn solid blue before proceeding with the connection.
  5. Go to your computer (Windows) and click the network icon displayed in the notification area.
  6. A list of networks will be displayed on your computer screen. Select My Passport network SSID.
  7. Launch a browser on your computer and type the IP address of the WD hard drive device.
  8. Check the I agree to the License agreement box and then click ‘I accept’ on the End User License agreement screen.
  9. Click the toggle buttons beside the SD and USB device options to copy the contents to your computer automatically when an SD card or USB drive is connected.
  10. Click Next. Toggle the button ON beside the Update your Software Automatically option on the Enhance your WD Experience screen.
  11. Click Finish. To Complete the WD My Passport Wireless Pro 1TB setup. You can use your WD My Passport Wireless Pro device once the dashboard for the same appears on your computer screen.
