How to Retrieve Files from My Passport wireless Pro 1TB External Hard Drive?

 The files on the WD My Passport Wireless Pro hard drive can be efficiently retrieved using WD SmartWare. This software can perform continuous backup and retrieve lost/deleted files.


  1. On the MY Passport dashboard, go to the Learning Center Welcome page.
  2. Click the Downloads tab and navigate to the WD SmartWare box.
  3. Click the Download button. Once the file downloads, install it by responding appropriately to the on-screen installer prompts.
  4. Launch the WD SmartWare window after the installation.
  5. Click the Retrieve option on the software. 
  6. Choose the files backup to be restored. Specify a destination to store the recovered files.
  7. To store the files to the respective original locations, click the To the Original Places option, and to save them in a different folder, click the In a Retrieved Content Folder option.
  8. Now, click Select Files. Choose the Retrieve All Files option to restore all the files in the backup, else select the Retrieve Some Files option and mark the files you want to restore.
  9. Click the Start Retrieving option. Once the files are restored, you will be intimated with a message stating ‘WD My Passport Wireless Pro 1TB Setup File Retrieval Complete’ and a blue checkmark.
